Black Keys New Release - "Fever" from upcoming album Turn Blue

Following from their excellent successful album El Camino, Black Keys members Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney have recently announced their eighth studio album will be called Turn Blue and is out on 13th May.

"I'm really proud of the record. Dan and I are really happy with it," says Patrick "I'm excited for people to hear the song. I'm more excited for people to hear the whole album."

Fans of the Black Keys, including myself will note a change of direction after listening to Fever. The song has more synth thrown in, but they’ve kept the great guitar/drum combo which makes for a great sound. Fever has a great beat throughout which will no doubt prove to be a hit and gives a great sample of whats to come from the forthcoming album. I personally cannot wait to hear the rest of the album. Still very bluesy, but with a more late 60s/early 70s vibe going on.

"It always feels strange releasing a single because you have to separate the song from the whole album and you kind of listen to a song out of context for a few weeks. That's the part I have always had trouble wrapping my head around because for Dan and I, our albums are meant to be listened to as albums.” says Patrick "It's touching on a few previous albums we've made: Brothers and Attack And Release,"

Patrick added. "But I think it has the melodic sense of El Camino." "Ultimately I think it's something different than anything we've done before. it's a pretty diverse album but it's a little bit more psychedelic than the last record."

True Blue is out on 13 May 2014. The album is available to order via iTunes now and people who pre-order straight away get a free copy of Fever.
